To Ignore A Conflagration, from the series A Light in the Wasteland, 2019
Stone lithograph
Sheet: 24 x 18 inches
Printed and published by the artist
Edition: 8

This image was printed from a broken and discarded lithography stone, and is part of the series A Light in the Wastelandーa surreal narrative about the sole resident of a city in the desert. A monster of fire attacks the city, but at first the resident tries to ignore the destruction. Eventually he understands the monster as part of himself, cast out of the city, twisted by hatred. This work declares that no part of you is truly evil, and encapsulates my personal experience of learning to love and collaborate with my shadow. My artistic goal is oneness of being.
