How do plants and animals teach us about love? How do they teach us about boundaries, acts of care, and intimacy in ways neither words nor human bodies can express? Pilea Kingdom is a drypoint that captures a quiet moment of intimacy, shared between my partner and I. As the night falls, we are surrounded by our plants and our dog who rests peacefully beside us. Here, we see a world where texture, light, different species, and love can overlap to create an image that is both reflective and joyous.
